Praying and Talbiyah at Dhu-al Hulaifah

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) prayed four rak'ahs at Madinah and two rak'ahs of afternoon prayer at Dhu-al Hulaifah, then spent the night there until morning. When he mounted his mount, he raised his voice in talbiyah.

Anas said : Messenger of Allah (SAWS) prayed four rak’ahs at Madinah and prayed two rak’ahs of afternoon prayer at Dhu-al Hulaifah. He then passed the night at Dhu-al Hulaifah till the morning came. When he rode on his mount and it stood up on its back, he raised his voice in talbiyah.
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ الظُّهْرَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ أَرْبَعًا وَصَلَّى الْعَصْرَ بِذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ بَاتَ بِذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ حَتَّى أَصْبَحَ فَلَمَّا رَكِبَ رَاحِلَتَهُ وَاسْتَوَتْ بِهِ أَهَلَّ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith tells us about the Prophet Muhammad's practice of praying four rak'ahs in Madinan and two rak'ahs of afternoon prayer at a place called Dhu-al Hulaifa. After completing his prayers, he stayed there overnight until morning when he mounted his mount and raised his voice in talbiyah. This hadith teaches us that we should be devoted to our prayers and also remember to recite talbiyah when we are travelling or embarking on a journey. We should also strive to make our worship sincere by spending time reflecting on our faith after completing it.
