Perfuming Before Sacred State and Circuits Round Ka’bah

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) used to be perfumed before entering the sacred state and before making the circuits round the Ka’bah.

'A’ishah said ; I used to perfume the Messenger of Allah (SAWS) preparatory to his entering the sacred state before he put on Ihram, and preparatory to putting off Ihram before he made the circuits round the House (the Ka’bah).
حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ كُنْتُ أُطَيِّبُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لإِحْرَامِهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُحْرِمَ وَلإِحْلاَلِهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَطُوفَ بِالْبَيْتِ

This hadith teaches us that we should take care of our appearance when engaging in religious activities such as prayer or pilgrimage.
