Appointment of Dhat Irq as Place for Ihram

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) appointed Dhat Irq as the place of putting on ihram for the people of Iraq.

Narrated Al-Harith ibn Amr as-Sahmi: I came to the Messenger of Allah when he was at Mina, or at Arafat. He was surrounded by the people. When the bedouins came and saw his face, they would say: This is a blessed face. He said: He (the Prophet) appointed Dhat Irq as the place of putting on ihram for the people of Iraq.

QUICK LESSONS:
Respect others regardless of their background or culture; show appreciation towards those who have done something good; consider different cultures when making decisions; follow Islamic teachings while performing Hajj/Umrah

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the appointment of a place called Dhat Irq by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ‎, peace be upon him, for people from Iraq to put on their ihram. Ihram is a sacred state that Muslims enter into when they are performing Hajj or Umrah. It involves wearing two pieces of white cloth and abstaining from certain activities such as cutting one's hair or nails, wearing perfume, and engaging in marital relations. By appointing this specific location for Iraqis to put on their ihrams, it shows that the Prophet was very aware and considerate of different cultures and backgrounds within his community. He wanted to make sure that everyone was able to perform Hajj in an easy way without having to travel too far away from home. This hadith also teaches us about respect and appreciation; when bedouins saw his face they said it was blessed which shows how much they respected him even though he wasn't from their tribe or culture.
