Staying Home After Pilgrimage

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) advised his wives to stay at home after the Farewell Pilgrimage.

Narrated Abu Waqid al-Laythi: I heard the Messenger of Allah saying to his wives during the Farewell Pilgrimage: This (is the pilgrimage for you); afterwards stick to the surface of the mats (ie should stay at home).
حَدَّثَنَا النُّفَيْلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنِ ابْنٍ لأَبِي، وَاقِدٍ اللَّيْثِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ لأَزْوَاجِهِ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ ‏ "‏ هَذِهِ ثُمَّ ظُهُورُ الْحُصْرِ

EXPLANATIONS:
During the Farewell Pilgrimage, Prophet Muhammad gave advice to his wives that after the pilgrimage they should stay at home. This hadith teaches us that it is important for women to remain in their homes and not go out unnecessarily. It also shows us how much respect and care Prophet Muhammad had for his wives by giving them this advice. He wanted them to be safe and protected from any harm or danger that could come from going out of their homes too often. This hadith also teaches us about the importance of following Islamic teachings and respecting our elders’ advice as well as being obedient to Allah's commands.
