The Importance of Charity

SUMMARY: Giving charity is important, and it should start with those closest to you.

Abu Hurairah reported the Messenger of Allah as saying The best sadaqah is that which leaves a competence ; and begin with those for whom you are responsible.

QUICK LESSONS:
Give charity according to your ability and start with those close to you.
EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught us that giving charity is an important part of our faith. He said that the best kind of charity is the one which leaves a person with enough money to live comfortably. This means that we should not give away all our money, but instead give what we can afford without putting ourselves in financial difficulty. Additionally, he said that when giving charity, we should start with those closest to us - such as family members or people who depend on us for support. This teaches us the importance of taking care of our loved ones and being responsible for them financially if needed.
