This hadith emphasizes the importance of reciting Surah Ikhlas, which is one of the shortest surahs in the Quran. It is narrated by Abu Sa’id Al Khudri that a man heard another man reciting “Say He is Allah, One” and he was repeating it. When he went to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in the morning, he mentioned it to him and thought it was a small surah. However, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that by Him in Whose Hand his life was, this surah was equivalent to a third of the Quran! This hadith teaches us how important even short verses from Quran are and how much reward we can get for reciting them with sincerity and dedication.
