Learning and Teaching the Qur'an

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ taught that the best among us is the one who learns and teaches the Qur'an.

'Uthman reported the Prophet as saying: The best among you is he who learns and teaches the Qur'an.
حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ قَالَ ‏ "‏ خَيْرُكُمْ مَنْ تَعَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ وَعَلَّمَهُ

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad taught that those who learn and teach from the Qur’an are among the best of people. The Qur’an is a holy book for Muslims which contains teachings from Allah. It is important to learn from it so we can understand how to live our lives according to Allah's will. It is also important to teach others what we have learned so they too can benefit from its wisdom. By doing this, we can help spread knowledge of Allah's teachings throughout our communities and beyond.
