The Power of Reciting Two Verses from Surah al-Baqarah

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught that reciting two verses from the last part of Surah al-Baqarah at night is sufficient for a person.

'Abd al-Rahman b. Yazid said: I asked Abu Mas'ud while he was making circumambulation of the Ka'bah (about the recitation of some verses from the Qur'an). He said: The Messenger of Allah said: If anyone recited two verses from the last of Surah al-Baqarah at night, they will be sufficient for him.
حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا مَسْعُودٍ وَهُوَ يَطُوفُ بِالْبَيْتِ فَقَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ مَنْ قَرَأَ الآيَتَيْنِ مِنْ آخِرِ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ فِي لَيْلَةٍ كَفَتَاهُ

The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught us the power of reciting two verses from the last part of Surah Al Baqarah at night. This hadith emphasizes on the importance and power of reciting these two verses as it is enough for a person to gain blessings and protection throughout the night. It is believed that these two verses are so powerful that they can protect one from any harm or danger during their sleep. Furthermore, this hadith also encourages us to recite Quran regularly as it has many benefits for our spiritual wellbeing and growth in faith. Additionally, this hadith also teaches us to be grateful for all the blessings we have been given by Allah SWT such as His guidance through His holy book - Quran - which contains immense knowledge and wisdom within its pages.
