Sunan Abi Dawud 1286 (Book 5, Hadith 37) #21578
Rewards for Good Deeds

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the various good deeds that are rewarded by Allah and how two rak'ahs of Duha prayer can replace them.

Abu al-Aswad al-Dailani said: While we were present with Abu Dharr, he said: In the morning, alms are due for him, ever fast is alms, every pilgrimage is alms, every utterance of "Glory to be Allah" is alms, every utterance of "Allah is most great" is alms, every utterance of "Praise be to Allah" is alms. The Messenger of Allah recounted all such good works. He then said: Two rak'ahs which one prays in the Duha serve instead of that.

QUICK LESSONS:
Perform acts with sincerity and faith ; Appreciate all forms of worship ; Show gratitude towards God's blessings .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith talks about the various good deeds that are rewarded by Allah. It mentions charity, pilgrimage, glorification of Allah, greatness of Allah and praise of Allah as some examples. The Messenger then said that two rak'ahs which one prays in the Duha serve instead as a reward for these good deeds. This means that if someone performs these acts with sincerity and faith, they will be rewarded by God even if it is just a small act like saying 'Glory to be God'. It also teaches us to appreciate all forms of worship no matter how small it may seem because every act has its own reward from God.
