QUICK LESSONS:
Pray four rak'as before the afternoon prayers with sincerity and humility .

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, taught us that praying four rak'ahs before the afternoon prayer is a way to gain Allah's mercy. A rak'ah is one unit of prayer and consists of standing, bowing, prostrating and sitting in between. This means that we should pray four units of prayer before the afternoon prayer as it will bring us closer to Allah and His mercy. We should also remember that this act of worship must be done with sincerity and humility in order for it to be accepted by Allah.

The Prophet Muhammad also taught us that we should always strive for excellence in our acts of worship so that we can receive more blessings from Allah. He said “Whoever does an action for which he will receive reward from his Lord, let him do it with excellence” [Bukhari]. Therefore, when praying these four rak'ahs before the afternoon prayer we should strive to do them with excellence so as to increase our chances of gaining more mercy from Allah.
