According to this hadith narrated by Abd Allah b. 'Umar, the Prophet Muhammad PBUH used to practice praying two rak'ahs before and after certain prayers such as the noon prayer, sunset prayer, and night prayer. He also did not pray after the Friday prayer until he left from it but then prayed two rak'ahs afterwards. This hadith teaches us that we should be consistent in our prayers even if it is just a few extra ones here or there as they can make a big difference in our spiritual lives.
