Going to Prayer with the Companions

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the Companions of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) going to a place of prayer on special days and returning through a valley known as Batn Bathan.

Narrated Bakr ibn Mubashshir al-Ansari: I used to go to the place of prayer on the day of the breaking of the fast, and on the day of sacrifice along with the Companions of the Messenger of Allah . We would walk through a valley known as Batn Bathan till we came to the place of prayer. Then we would pray along with the Messenger of Allah and return through Batn Bathan to our house.
حَدَّثَنَا حَمْزَةُ بْنُ نُصَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سُوَيْدٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي أُنَيْسُ بْنُ أَبِي يَحْيَى، أَخْبَرَنِي إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ سَالِمٍ، مَوْلَى نَوْفَلِ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ أَخْبَرَنِي بَكْرُ بْنُ مُبَشِّرٍ الأَنْصَارِيُّ، قَالَ كُنْتُ أَغْدُو مَعَ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ إِلَى الْمُصَلَّى يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ وَيَوْمَ الأَضْحَى فَنَسْلُكُ بَطْنَ بَطْحَانَ حَتَّى نَأْتِيَ الْمُصَلَّى فَنُصَلِّيَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ نَرْجِعُ مِنْ بَطْنِ بَطْحَانَ إِلَى بُيُوتِنَا

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about how the companions of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to go to a place of prayer on special days such as the day of breaking fast and day of sacrifice. They would walk through a valley known as Batn Bathan until they reached their destination. After praying along with Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), they would return home through this same valley. This hadith teaches us that it is important for Muslims to attend places of worship on special occasions and also encourages us to be mindful when travelling by taking safe routes. It also shows us that we should strive for unity in our communities by joining together in prayer during these times.
