Praying Four Rak'ahs After the Friday Prayer

SUMMARY: This hadith encourages Muslims to pray four rak'ahs after the Friday prayer.

Abu Hurairah reported the Messenger of Allah as saying (this is the version of the narrator Ibn al-Sabbah): If anyone of you prays after the Friday prayer, he should say for rak'ahs. According to the version of the narrator Ibn Yunus, the tradition goes: When you have offered the Friday prayer, pray after it four rak'ahs. He said: My father said to me: My son, if you have said two rak'ahs in the mosque, then you comes to your house, pray two rak'ahs more.

QUICK LESSONS:
Pray four rak’ahs after the friday prayer
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith encourages Muslims to pray four rak’ahs after the Friday prayer. A rak’ah is a unit of prayer that consists of standing, bowing, prostrating and sitting in between. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that when one has offered two rak’ahs in the mosque, they should come home and offer two more. This shows us how important it is for us to continue our prayers even when we are not in a mosque or other place of worship. It also teaches us that we should be consistent with our prayers and make sure we are offering them regularly throughout the day. We can learn from this hadith that it is important for us to take time out of our day to connect with Allah through prayer and remember Him often throughout our lives.
