QUICK LESSONS:
Follow Islamic teachings, Perform extra voluntary acts of worship

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about how one should pray after attending Jumuah or the weekly congregational prayers on Fridays. According to this hadith, Ibn ‘Umar saw a man who was praying two rak’ahs after offering his Jumuah prayers and asked him if he was offering four rak’ahs of Jumuah prayers. It is narrated that Abd Allah b. Umar used to offer two additional rak’ahs in his house as Sunnah or voluntary prayers following the example of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ who also did so himself. This shows us that it is important for Muslims to follow in the footsteps of our beloved prophet ﷺ and perform extra voluntary acts of worship such as these additional Sunnah prayers even when we are not obligated to do so by Islamic law.
