Sunan Abi Dawud 1120 (Book 2, Hadith 731) #21412
Kindness and Helpfulness of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was known for his kindness and willingness to help others, even when he was in the middle of a sermon.

Narrated Anas ibn Malik: I saw the Apostle would descend from the pulpit and a man stop him for his need. He would remain standing with him until his need was fulfilled. Then he would stand and pray. Abu Dawud said: This tradition is not well known from the narrator Thabit. Jarir b. Hazim is the only narrator of this tradition.

QUICK LESSONS:
Be kind and willing to help those who are in need; Attend to people's needs even if you are busy; Put other people's needs before your own tasks; Show compassion towards others; Be selfless in your actions towards others .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the exemplary character of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Even when he was in the middle of delivering a sermon from his pulpit, he would stop if someone needed help or had a request. He would remain standing with them until their need was fulfilled before continuing with his sermon. This shows us that helping others is more important than any task we may be doing at any given time, no matter how important it may seem. It also teaches us that we should always be kind and willing to help those who are in need, as this is what our beloved prophet did during his lifetime.
