Sunan Abi Dawud 1117 (Book 2, Hadith 728) #21409
Late Arrival to Friday Prayer

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) advised people to pray two short rak'ahs when they arrive late for Friday prayer while the Imam is preaching.

This tradition has also been transmitted through a different chain of narrators by Jabir b. 'Abd Allah. This version adds: He (the Prophet) turned to the people and said: When one of you comes (on Friday) while the imam is preaching, he should pray two rak'ahs and make them short.
