Offering Friday Prayer in the Time of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the Friday prayer and how it was offered in the time of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Salamah b. al-Akwa' reported on the authority of his father: We used to offer the Friday prayer along with the Messenger of Allah and return (to our homes) while no shade of the walls was seen (at that time).
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَى بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، سَمِعْتُ إِيَاسَ بْنَ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الأَكْوَعِ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ كُنَّا نُصَلِّي مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ الْجُمُعَةَ ثُمَّ نَنْصَرِفُ وَلَيْسَ لِلْحِيطَانِ فَىْءٌ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about offering Salat al-Jumu'ah or the Friday prayer during the time of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). It was narrated by Salamah b. al-Akwa', who reported on the authority of his father that they used to offer this prayer with the Messenger of Allah and return to their homes while no shade from walls was seen at that time. This shows us how important it is for Muslims to offer their prayers on Fridays as well as other days. It also teaches us that we should be punctual when offering our prayers and not delay them unnecessarily. Furthermore, it reminds us that we should always strive to perform our religious duties with utmost sincerity and dedication so that we can reap its rewards both in this world and hereafter.
