Sitting Postures After Prayer

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) had a specific way of sitting after two and four rakahs of prayer.

Muhammad b. 'Amr al-Amir said: I was sitting in the company( of the Companions). He then narrated this tradition saying: When he(the Prophet) sat up after two rak’ahs, he sat on the sole of his left foot and raised his left foot. When he sat up after four rak’ahs, he placed his left hip on the ground and put out his both feet on one side.

QUICK LESSONS:
Follow Sunnah , Emulate Prophets footsteps , Strive for closeness to Allah SWT
EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was known to have a specific way of sitting after two and four rakahs of prayer. After two rakahs he would sit on the sole of his left foot and raise his left foot. After four rakahs he would place his left hip on the ground and put out both feet on one side. This is an example for us to follow in our own prayers as it was something that the Prophet himself did regularly. We should strive to emulate him in all aspects of our lives including how we pray so that we can be closer to Allah SWT through following His beloved messenger's footsteps.
