Sahih al-Bukhari 212 (Book 4, Hadith 78) #212
Alertness in Prayer

SUMMARY: It is important to be alert and aware while praying, as one may not be aware of what they are asking for when drowsy.

Narrated 'Aisha: Allah's Messenger said, "If anyone of you feels drowsy while praying he should go to bed (sleep) till his slumber is over because in praying while drowsy one does not know whether one is asking for forgiveness or for a bad thing for oneself".

QUICK LESSONS:
Be mindful when you pray; Stay focused on your prayer; Take breaks if you feel drowsy during your prayers; Ask only for forgiveness when you pray; Have pure intentions when you pray .

EXPLANATIONS:
When we pray, it is important to be mindful and alert. We should not let ourselves become too drowsy or distracted, as we may end up asking for something that we do not want or intend. This hadith reminds us to stay focused on our prayer and make sure that our intentions are pure. If we find ourselves becoming too tired or sleepy during prayer, it is better to take a break and rest until the feeling passes so that our prayers can remain sincere and meaningful.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us the importance of being mindful in all aspects of life, including prayer. He reminded us that if we become too drowsy while praying, then it is better to take a break until the feeling passes so that our prayers can remain sincere and meaningful. This hadith encourages us to stay focused on our prayer so that we can ask for forgiveness instead of something bad for ourselves unknowingly due to lack of awareness or focus during prayer time.
