Sunan Abi Dawud 867 (Book 2, Hadith 477) #21158
Prohibiting Placing Hands Between Knees During Prayer

SUMMARY: It is prohibited to put both hands between the knees while bowing in prayer.

Mus’ab b sa’d said: I prayed by the side of my father. I put both of my hands between my knees(in bowing condition). He prohibited me from it. I then repeated; so he said: Do not do so, because we used to do so. But we were prohibited to do that, and commanded to put our hands on the knees.

QUICK LESSONS:
Follow instructions from religious leaders , Pay attention to details when worshipping Allah SWT
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the proper way of praying. It teaches us that when we are in a bowing position during prayer, we should not put both of our hands between our knees. Instead, we should place them on top of our knees. This was something that people used to do before they were taught not to do it and commanded to place their hands on their knees instead. The lesson here is that even if something seems like a small detail, it can still be important and have an effect on how we pray and worship Allah SWT.
