Reciting the Qur'an Correctly

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) led the people in prayer and asked who recited a certain surah. When someone said they did, he said he knew someone had confused him in the recitation of the Qur'an.

'Imran b. Husain reported that the prophet of Allah led them in the noon prayer. When he finished it, he said: Which of you did recite the surah " Glorify the name of thy lord, the Most High"(Surah lxxxvii) A man said: I . He said: I knew that some one of you confused me in it(i.e in the recitation of the Qur’an).

QUICK LESSONS:
Strive for accuracy when reading from Quran .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how important it is to recite the Quran correctly. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was leading a prayer and asked who had recited a certain surah, when someone answered that they did, he said that he knew someone had confused him in their recitation of the Quran. This shows us how important it is to recite correctly as even though we may think we are doing it right, there could be mistakes that we don't realize or notice. It also teaches us to be humble and not think too highly of ourselves as even if we think our recitation is perfect, there could still be mistakes that others can point out or notice more easily than us. We should always strive for accuracy when reading from the Quran so that our worship will be accepted by Allah SWT and so that we can gain its full benefits from understanding what it says correctly.
