The Necessity of Reciting Fatihat Al-Kitab in Prayer

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad commanded Abu Hurairah to announce that prayer is not valid unless it includes the recitation of Fatihat al-Kitab and something more.

Abu hurairah said: The Messenger of Allah commanded me to announce that prayer is not valid but with the recitation of Fatihat al-kitab and something more.
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ أَمَرَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ أَنْ أُنَادِيَ أَنَّهُ لاَ صَلاَةَ إِلاَّ بِقِرَاءَةِ فَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ فَمَا زَادَ
