EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's practice of buying foodstuff from a Jew on credit and mortgaging his armor to him as collateral. This hadith teaches us that it is permissible to buy things on credit, but one must be sure to pay back what they owe in order for the transaction to be valid. It also teaches us that if we are unable to pay back what we owe, then it is permissible for us to mortgage something of value in order for the transaction to be valid. These teachings remind us of the importance of being honest and responsible with our finances, as well as being mindful of our obligations towards others.
