Raising Hands in Prayer

SUMMARY: The Prophet (PBUH) raised his hands when he uttered the takbir, bowed and raised his head after bowing until he brought them to the lobes of his ears.

Malik b. al-Huwairith said: I saw the Prophet raise his hands when he uttered the takbir (Allah is most great), when he bowed and when he raised his head after bowing until he brought them to the lobes of his ears.
حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ نَصْرِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ الْحُوَيْرِثِ، قَالَ رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ إِذَا كَبَّرَ وَإِذَا رَكَعَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ حَتَّى يَبْلُغَ بِهِمَا فُرُوعَ أُذُنَيْهِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet's practice of raising his hands when uttering the takbir, bowing and raising his head after bowing until he brought them to the lobes of his ears during prayer. This is a Sunnah that Muslims should follow while praying as it was practiced by our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ himself. It is important for Muslims to remember that prayer is an act of worship and should be done with utmost respect and reverence towards Allah SWT.
