This hadith discusses the sale of a type of date palm called ‘Araya. It was narrated by Ibn ‘Umar from Zaid bin Thabit that Allah's Messenger allowed the sale of these date palms by estimating their dates for measured amounts of dried dates. Musa bin ‘Uqba said that Al-’Araya were distinguished date palms and one could come and buy them. This hadith teaches us to be accurate in our measurements when dealing with transactions involving money or goods, as well as to be honest in our dealings with others.
