Raising Hands in Prayer

SUMMARY: The Prophet (PBUH) raised his hands in front of his ears when he began to pray, and the people followed suit by raising their hands up to their chest.

Narrated Wa'il ibn Hujr: I witnessed the Prophet raise his hands in front of his ears when he began to pray. I then came back and saw them (the people) raising their hands up to their chest when they began to pray. They wore long caps and blankets.

QUICK LESSONS:
Raise your hands in front of your ears before starting your prayers. Maintain good posture while praying with your back straight and not slouching or leaning forward too much. Focus on your prayers without getting distracted by worldly matters. Show humility and respect towards Allah while praying .

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Wa'il ibn Hujr tells us that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) raised his hands in front of his ears when he began to pray. This was then adopted by the people who wore long caps and blankets, raising their hands up to their chest when they began to pray. This is a sign of humility and respect for Allah as we are asking Him for His blessings and mercy. It also serves as a reminder that we should be mindful of our actions while praying, focusing on our prayer rather than being distracted by worldly matters. We should also strive to maintain good posture during prayer, keeping our backs straight and not slouching or leaning forward too much.
