Sunan Abi Dawud 697 (Book 2, Hadith 307) #20988
Praying Without Interruption

SUMMARY: When praying, one should not let anyone pass in front of them and if they refuse to go away, they should fight them.

Abu Sa'id al-Khudri reported the Messenger of Allah as saying: When one of you prays, he should not let anyone pass in front of him; he should turn him away as far as possible; but if he refuses (to go), he should fight him, for he is only a devil.

QUICK LESSONS:
Take your prayers seriously and protect your right to pray without interruption even if it means fighting for it.
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of prayer and how it should be done without interruption. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught that when someone is praying, no one should pass in front of them as this can be a distraction from their prayer. If someone refuses to move away, then the person praying has the right to fight them as they are only a devil. This hadith teaches us that we must take our prayers seriously and not let anything distract us from it. It also teaches us that we must protect our right to pray without interruption even if it means fighting for it.
