Sunan Abi Dawud 683 (Book 2, Hadith 293) #20974
Eagerness in Worship

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ encouraged Abu Bakrah to be eager in his worship, but advised him not to bow outside the row again.

Abu Bakrah said that he came to the mosque when the prophet was bowing. So I bowed outside the row (before joining it). The prophet said; May Allah increase your eagerness! But do not do it again.

QUICK LESSONS:
Be enthusiastic and passionate about your worship; Respect others when worshipping; Strive for excellence in your worship
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith highlights the importance of being eager and enthusiastic when it comes to worshipping Allah. The Prophet (ﷺ) saw that Abu Bakrah was so eager to join the prayer that he bowed outside of the row before joining it. Instead of reprimanding him, he praised his enthusiasm and encouraged him to continue with this attitude towards worship. However, he also advised him not to bow outside of the row again as this is considered disrespectful towards other worshippers who are already lined up for prayer. This hadith teaches us that we should strive for excellence in our worship and be passionate about it, while still respecting others around us at all times.
