The Blessing of Orderly Prayer Rows

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught his followers to be orderly and organized in their rows during prayer, and that Allah and His angels bless those who are near the front.

Narrated Al-Bara' ibn Azib: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pass through the row from one side to the other; he used to set out chests and shoulders in order, and say: Do not be irregular. And he would say: Allah and His angels bless those who are near the first rows.
حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ، وَأَبُو عَاصِمِ بْنِ جَوَّاسٍ الْحَنَفِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي الأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ الْيَامِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْسَجَةَ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ، قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَتَخَلَّلُ الصَّفَّ مِنْ نَاحِيَةٍ إِلَى نَاحِيَةٍ يَمْسَحُ صُدُورَنَا وَمَنَاكِبَنَا وَيَقُولُ ‏"‏ لاَ تَخْتَلِفُوا فَتَخْتَلِفَ قُلُوبُكُمْ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ وَكَانَ يَقُولُ ‏"‏ إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلاَئِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى الصُّفُوفِ الأُوَلِ

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad's teachings on prayer were very important to him. He wanted his followers to be orderly when they prayed, so he would go through the rows from one side to the other, setting out chests and shoulders in order. He also taught that Allah and His angels bless those who are near the first rows. This means that if you pray in an orderly fashion, you will receive a special blessing from Allah for your efforts. It is important for us to remember this teaching when we pray so that we can benefit from this blessing as well.
