Prohibiting Selling Silver for Gold on Credit

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the prohibition of selling silver for gold on credit.

Narrated Abu Al-Minhal: I asked Al-Bara' bin 'Azib and Zaid bin Arqam about money exchanges. Each of them said, "This is better than I," and both of them said, "Allah's Messenger forbade the selling of silver for gold on credit".
حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي حَبِيبُ بْنُ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْمِنْهَالِ، قَالَ سَأَلْتُ الْبَرَاءَ بْنَ عَازِبٍ وَزَيْدَ بْنَ أَرْقَمَ ـ رضى الله عنهم ـ عَنِ الصَّرْفِ،، فَكُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا يَقُولُ هَذَا خَيْرٌ مِنِّي‏.‏ فَكِلاَهُمَا يَقُولُ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ عَنْ بَيْعِ الذَّهَبِ بِالْوَرِقِ دَيْنًا‏.‏
