Sunan Abi Dawud 564 (Book 2, Hadith 174) #20855
Rewarded for Going to Mosque

SUMMARY: Allah will reward those who perform ablution and go to the mosque, even if they miss the congregation prayer.

Narrated AbuHurayrah: The Prophet said: whoever performs ablution, and performs his ablution perfectly, and then goes to the mosque and finds that the people had finished the prayer (in congregation), Allah will give him a reward like one who prayed in congregation and attended it; The reward of those who prayed in congregation will not be curtailed.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that Allah rewards those who perform ablution and go to the mosque even if they miss the congregation prayer. It is a reminder of how important it is for Muslims to attend their prayers in congregation at the mosque. Even if one misses it due to any reason, Allah will still reward them for their effort of going there. This hadith also encourages us to make an effort in performing our ablutions perfectly as this too is rewarded by Allah.
