Establishing Prayer

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ encouraged Bilal to continue the Iqamah and asked Allah to establish it and cause it to continue.

Narrated AbuUmamah, or one of the Companion of the Prophet: Bilal began the Iqamah, and when he said: "The time for prayer has come," the Prophet said: "May Allah establish it and cause it to continue".
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْعَتَكِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ، حَدَّثَنِي رَجُلٌ، مِنْ أَهْلِ الشَّامِ عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، أَوْ عَنْ بَعْضِ، أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ أَنَّ بِلاَلاً أَخَذَ فِي الإِقَامَةِ فَلَمَّا أَنْ قَالَ قَدْ قَامَتِ الصَّلاَةُ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ‏ "‏ أَقَامَهَا اللَّهُ وَأَدَامَهَا ‏"‏ ‏.‏ وَقَالَ فِي سَائِرِ الإِقَامَةِ كَنَحْوِ حَدِيثِ عُمَرَ - رضى الله عنه - فِي الأَذَانِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the importance of prayer in Islam. It is narrated by AbuUmamah or one of the Companions of the Prophet that Bilal began with Iqamah and when he said "The time for prayer has come," The Prophet asked Allah to establish it and cause it to continue. This hadith emphasizes on establishing prayer as a part of our daily routine. It also encourages us to be consistent in our prayers so that we can reap its benefits in this world and hereafter. Moreover, this hadith also teaches us that we should always seek help from Allah for all our needs including establishing prayer in our lives.
