Sunan Abi Dawud 522 (Book 2, Hadith 132) #20813
Repeating the Words of Mu’adhdhin During Adhan

SUMMARY: The hadith is about repeating the words of the mu’adhdhin when hearing the Adhan.

Abu Sa’id al-Khudri reported the Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him) as saying : When you hear the Adhan, you should repeat the same words as the mu’adhdhin pronounces.

QUICK LESSONS:
Listen attentively to an adhan and repeat after the mu'adhhin .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about repeating what a mu'adhdhin says when one hears an adhan. An adhan is a call to prayer that happens five times a day in Islam and it's made by a mu'adhdhin who stands in front of a mosque and calls out for people to come pray. The Prophet Muhammad said that when you hear this call, you should repeat what he says so that Allah will reward you for it. This teaches us that we should always be mindful of our actions and words and strive to do good deeds even if they are small ones like repeating after someone else's words. It also shows us how important prayer is in Islam as it's something we must do five times every day no matter where we are or what we're doing.
