Praying Before Sitting in the Mosque

SUMMARY: When entering a mosque, one should pray two RAKAHS before sitting down.

Abu Qatadah reported the Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him) as saying; when any one of you enters the mosque, he should pray two RAKAHS before sitting down.
حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ الزُّرَقِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ ‏ "‏ إِذَا جَاءَ أَحَدُكُمُ الْمَسْجِدَ فَلْيُصَلِّ سَجْدَتَيْنِ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ يَجْلِسَ

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that when we enter a mosque, we should first offer two rakaahs of prayer before sitting down. This hadith also teaches us that prayer is an essential part of our faith and it should be done with sincerity and devotion.
