Sunan Abi Dawud 431 (Book 2, Hadith 41) #20722
Praying on Time Despite Rulers

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) advised Abu Dharr to offer prayers at their proper time, even if the rulers delay it, and that doing so will be a supererogatory prayer.

Abu Dharr said: "The Messenger of Allah asked me: 'How will you act, Abu Dharr, when you are under rulers who kill prayer or delay it (beyond its proper time) ?' I said: 'Messenger of Allah, what do you command me ?' He replied: 'Offer the prayer at its proper time, and if you say it along with them, say it, for it will be a supererogatory prayer for you'."

QUICK LESSONS:
Offer your prayer at its proper time
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of praying on time despite any rulers who may delay it. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) asked Abu Dharr how he would act when under rulers who kill prayer or delay it beyond its proper time. He then advised him to offer the prayer at its proper time and said that if he says it along with them, then it will be a supererogatory prayer for him. This hadith teaches us that we should always prioritize our religious obligations over any other worldly matters and not let anyone stop us from fulfilling our duties as Muslims. We should also strive to do more than what is required of us in order to gain extra rewards from Allah SWT.
