Show patience with children; show them love & understanding instead of punishing them harshly for their mistakes; spray water over soiled clothing instead of washing it off yourself; be kind & merciful towards others regardless if they make mistakes or not .

This hadith is about the kindness and mercy that was shown by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Umm Qais daughter of Mihsan reported that she came to the Messenger of Allah with her little son who had not attained the age of eating food. The Messenger of Allah seated him in his lap, and he urinated on his clothe. Instead of getting angry or scolding him, he sent for water and sprayed it over his clothe without washing it. This shows us how kind and merciful he was towards children, even when they made mistakes or did something wrong. He taught us to be patient with children, show them love and understanding instead of punishing them harshly for their mistakes.
