This hadith is about buying an unmilked sheep. It teaches us that when we buy something, we should be sure to check its quality and make sure it is satisfactory before making the purchase. If we are not satisfied with what we have bought, then we should return it and pay for any losses incurred in the process. In this case, the buyer must pay one Sa of dates for the milk that was lost due to them buying an unmilked sheep.
