This hadith emphasizes the importance of hygiene and cleanliness for every adult on Fridays. It is narrated by 'Abd al-Rahman b. Abi Sa'id al-Khudri that Prophet Muhammad said that washing and using a tooth stick are necessary for every adult on Friday, and everyone should apply perfume whatever one has available. The narrator Bukair did not mention 'Abd al Rahman but about perfume he said that even it might be of the kind used by women. This hadith teaches us to take care of our physical appearance in order to look presentable when attending religious gatherings such as Jummah prayer or any other Islamic event or gathering. It also encourages us to use perfumes which can be either from men's collection or women's collection depending upon what is available at hand in order to smell pleasant when attending such gatherings.
