Sahih al-Bukhari 2144 (Book 34, Hadith 96) #2059
Forbidden Selling Practices

SUMMARY: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) forbade the selling of garments without allowing the buyer to examine or see it.

Narrated Abu Sa'id: Allah's Messenger forbade the selling by Munabadha, ie to sell one's garment by casting it to the buyer not allowing him to examine or see it. Similarly he forbade the selling by Mulamasa. Mulamasa is to buy a garment, for example, by merely touching it, not looking at it.

QUICK LESSONS:
Follow fair and just practices when buying/selling items
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about two forbidden practices when it comes to buying and selling garments. The first practice is called Munabadha which involves a seller casting their garment to the buyer without allowing them to examine or see it. The second practice is called Mulamasa which involves a buyer buying a garment by merely touching it without looking at it. Both of these practices are forbidden according to Allah's Messenger and should be avoided in order for transactions between buyers and sellers to be fair and just.
