Consider your regular menstrual cycle length; Abandon prayer; Take bath; Tie cloth on private parts; Pray again

This hadith is about how to handle abnormal menstruation when it comes to prayer. According to the hadith, if a woman's menses become abnormal she should consider the period during which she used to menstruate every month when her menstruation was normal. Then she should count the days equal to the length of time of her normal menses and abandon prayer during those days or equal to that period. After this, she must take a bath, tie a cloth on her private parts and pray again. This hadith teaches us that we must be mindful of our health in order for us to be able fulfill our religious obligations properly. It also teaches us that we must always seek knowledge from reliable sources in order for us not make mistakes in matters related with religion as well as health issues.
