How to Perform Ablution According to Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ)

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) performing ablution and how he wiped his head, temples and ears.

Al-Rubayyi’ daughter of Mu’awwidh b. 'Afra’ said: I saw the Messenger of Allah performing ablution. He wiped his head front and back, his temples and his ears once.
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرٌ، - يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُضَرَ - عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلاَنَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ، أَنَّ رُبَيِّعَ بِنْتَ مُعَوِّذِ ابْنِ عَفْرَاءَ، أَخْبَرَتْهُ قَالَتْ، رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ يَتَوَضَّأُ - قَالَتْ - فَمَسَحَ رَأْسَهُ وَمَسَحَ مَا أَقْبَلَ مِنْهُ وَمَا أَدْبَرَ وَصُدْغَيْهِ وَأُذُنَيْهِ مَرَّةً وَاحِدَةً
