The Unacceptability of Embezzled Goods

SUMMARY: Allah does not accept charity or prayer from those who have acquired goods through embezzlement.

Narrated AbulMalih: The Prophet said: Allah does not accept charity from goods acquired by embezzlement as He does not accept prayer without purification.
حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمَلِيحِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ قَالَ ‏ "‏ لاَ يَقْبَلُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ صَدَقَةً مِنْ غُلُولٍ وَلاَ صَلاَةً بِغَيْرِ طُهُورٍ

This hadith is about the unacceptability of charity and prayer from those who have acquired goods through embezzlement. This hadith teaches us that we should be honest in our dealings and acquire our wealth through legitimate means, as only then will our prayers and charitable deeds be accepted by Allah. We must also ensure to purify ourselves before offering prayers to God, as it is an essential part of worshiping Him.
