EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us the importance of privacy and discretion when it comes to relieving ourselves. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was known for his exemplary character and this hadith shows us how he would go far away from people so that no one could see him while he relieved himself. This teaches us the importance of modesty, or al-haya’a in Arabic, which is a trait that all Muslims should strive for. Additionally, it also shows us the importance of istinja’a or cleansing oneself after relieving oneself as a part of good hygiene practices. These values are important for both adults and children alike as they help promote respect for ourselves and others around us.
