Prohibition of Intoxicants

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) forbade all intoxicants.

It was narrated that 'Aishah was asked about drinks and she said: "The Messenger of Allah SAW used to forbid all intoxicants". And they use the narration of 'Abdullah bin Shaddad from 'Abdullah bin 'Abbas.
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ بْنُ صَمْعَةَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَتْنِي وَالِدَتِي، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّهَا سُئِلَتْ عَنِ الأَشْرِبَةِ، فَقَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ يَنْهَى عَنْ كُلِّ مُسْكِرٍ ‏.‏ وَاعْتَلُّوا بِحَدِيثِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the prohibition of intoxicants in Islam. It was narrated that 'Aishah was asked about drinks and she said that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) used to forbid all intoxicants. The narration of 'Abdullah bin Shaddad from 'Abdullah bin 'Abbas also confirms this ruling. In Islam, it is forbidden to consume any type of drink or substance that causes intoxication or alters one's state of mind in any way as it can lead to immoral behavior and other negative consequences. Therefore, Muslims are encouraged to stay away from such substances and instead focus on leading a life based on Islamic principles which will bring them closer to Allah SWT and His blessings in this world and the hereafter.
