Prohibiting Certain Containers

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) forbade the use of certain containers.

Ibn 'Umar said: "The Messenger of Allah SAW forbade Ad-Dubba' (gourds), Al-Hantam and Al-Muzaffat".
أَخْبَرَنَا سُوَيْدٌ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ مُحَارِبٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ، يَقُولُ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ عَنِ الدُّبَّاءِ وَالْحَنْتَمِ وَالْمُزَفَّتِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the prohibition of certain containers by Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Ibn 'Umar reported that the Messenger of Allah forbade Ad-Dubba' which are gourds or large water skins made from animal hide. He also prohibited Al-Hantam and Al-Muzaffat which are two types of vessels used for storing liquids. This hadith teaches us to be mindful and careful when using any type of container as it may be forbidden in Islam.
