This hadith is about the kindness and generosity of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. A woman brought him a Burda, which is a square piece of cloth with woven margins. She had made it with her own hands for him to wear. He accepted her gift and wore it as a waist sheet in front of the people. One man asked if he could have it for himself and the Prophet ﷺ agreed to give it to him. Later on, this man used that same waist sheet as his own shroud when he died. This story teaches us that we should be generous with our gifts and not be selfish or greedy when receiving them from others; instead we should share them with those around us who may need them more than we do ourselves.
