QUICK LESSONS:
Be honest and truthful when making promises or taking an oath

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains the consequences of breaking one's oaths and cheating others. It is narrated by Abdullah bin Abu Aufa, who was a companion of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. In this hadith, Allah revealed a verse from the Quran which states that those who purchase a small gain at the cost of Allah's covenant and their oaths shall have no portion in the Hereafter. This means that if someone breaks an oath or cheats another person to gain something, they will not be rewarded for it in the afterlife. Therefore, this hadith teaches us to be honest and truthful when making promises or taking an oath as it is important for our spiritual wellbeing.
