QUICK LESSONS:
Dress modestly according to Islamic teachings

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about dressing modestly according to Islamic teachings. It was narrated by Anas that he saw Zainab, the daughter of the Prophet Muhammad, wearing a Qamis of Sira. The term ‘Qamis’ refers to an outer garment worn by men and women alike and ‘Sira’ is a type of fabric made from wool or cotton. This hadith teaches us that modesty should be observed when it comes to clothing choices as it is an important part of Islamic teachings. It also shows us that even though there are no specific rules for what kind of clothing should be worn, one should still dress modestly and not draw attention to oneself with flashy or revealing clothes.
