Following the Prophet's Example

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) threw away his silver ring and the people followed suit.

It was narrated from Anas that: He saw a ring of silver on the hand of the Messenger of Allah SAW one day, and the people made and wore similar rings. Then the Prophet SAW threw his ring away and the people threw their rings away too.
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، قِرَاءَةً عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّهُ رَأَى فِي يَدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ خَاتَمًا مِنْ وَرِقٍ يَوْمًا وَاحِدًا فَصَنَعُوهُ فَلَبِسُوهُ فَطَرَحَ النَّبِيُّ وَطَرَحَ النَّاسُ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about following the example of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). It was narrated by Anas ibn Malik that he saw a silver ring on the hand of the Messenger of Allah one day. After seeing this, many people made and wore similar rings. However, when they noticed that the Prophet had thrown away his own ring, they followed suit and threw away their rings as well. This hadith teaches us to be humble and follow in our beloved prophet's footsteps in all aspects of life. We should strive to emulate him in our words and deeds so that we can become closer to Allah SWT.
