Eating Meat with Mentioning Allah's Name

SUMMARY: It is permissible to eat meat if the name of Allah has been mentioned at the time of slaughtering.

Narrated 'Aisha: Some people said, "O Allah's Messenger ! Meat is brought to us by some people and we are not sure whether the name of Allah has been mentioned on it or not (at the time of slaughtering the animals)". Allah's Messenger said (to them), "Mention the name of Allah and eat it".

QUICK LESSONS:
Mention the name of Allah before consuming any kind of food or drink.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains that it is permissible to eat meat if the name of Allah has been mentioned at the time of slaughtering. This means that when an animal is slaughtered, one should say “Bismillahi” or “In the name of Allah” before doing so. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us this so that we can be sure that we are eating something pure and clean, as well as being mindful and grateful for what we have been given by God. We should also remember to thank God for providing us with food and sustenance. Furthermore, this hadith teaches us about being mindful in our actions and taking responsibility for what we do; even when it comes to something as simple as eating food.
